Cathedral Wedding in Birmingham | Kristina + Hunter

Kristina and Hunter’s wedding day was the perfect mix of tradition, elegance, and celebration. From the moment Kristina stepped into The Cathedral of St. Paul to the final dance overlooking downtown from City Club Birmingham, every detail was full of meaning and joy.

This one was extra special for me—Kristina is one of my sorority sisters, and getting to photograph her wedding day was an absolute honor. Being able to capture a friend’s biggest moments is one of the sweetest gifts this job brings me, and I’ll never forget this one!

A Reverent Ceremony at the Cathedral of St. Paul

Kristina always knew she wanted to get married at @stpaulsbhm. It was where she attended her first mass, and from that day on, her heart was set on this sacred space. The architecture, the music, the reverence—it all created the most beautiful setting for their vows.

Kristina and Hunter shared a private first look in the Cathedral gardens, and the moment was full of joy and anticipation. Their ceremony included a meaningful first communion as husband and wife, surrounded by 100 of their closest friends and family.

Her bouquet by @southernposies included so many sentimental touches—a wedding rosary, her great-grandmother’s pin, and a delicate quill—woven into the design with so much care.

Reception at City Club Birmingham

After the ceremony, the celebration continued at @cityclubbirmingham with a reception overlooking the skyline. The city views were stunning, the food was amazing (a big priority for them!), and the space was full of deep burgundy and gold details that gave everything a cozy, elevated feel.

@theglowapp kept Kristina glowing all day, and the entire night flowed beautifully thanks to coordination by @123kdt.

The reception featured first dances, heartfelt speeches, and a *fake exit* to close out the night with a fun twist. Kristina’s wedding cake was made by @therichbaker—who also happens to be the wife of one of her med school professors!

Final Thoughts

Kristina and Hunter—thank you for letting me be part of your day. Kristina, capturing your wedding as your sorority sister and friend was incredibly special. Watching the way you two love each other, surrounded by your favorite people, was such a joy.
