When Maddie & Kevin asked me to photograph their V. Sattui wedding in Napa Valley, I couldn’t have been more honored—or more excited. Not just because Maddie’s family already felt like extended family because I have known them so long, but because it was my first time photographing in Napa.
And wow—what a dream.
As a destination wedding photographer in Napa Valley, I can honestly say this place is every bit as magical as you’ve heard. Rolling vineyards, timeless architecture, warm California sun… and Maddie & Kevin? They were the kind of couple that made every moment feel like a movie.
Planning a Wedding Worth Traveling For
From the beginning, Maddie & Kevin wanted their wedding to feel intimate and meaningful—like an elevated dinner party tucked inside a vineyard. With about 75 of their closest friends and family, they kept things heartfelt and beautifully personal.
Their venue, V. Sattui Winery, offered the perfect backdrop: elegant stone buildings, stunning vines, and a tucked-away balcony that we used for some of their dreamiest portraits. If you’re dreaming of a destination wedding in wine country, this place is a gem.
Getting Ready & That First Look Glow
Maddie spent the morning surrounded by her best girls, sipping champagne and soaking up every joyful second. The glam team at @bellabridalnv nailed the soft, romantic look she wanted—nothing too overdone, just timeless and radiant.
One of my favorite parts of the day was their first look—Kevin turning around to see his bride, and his face just completely softening. They’re the kind of couple who wear their hearts openly, and capturing that quiet, emotional pause before the ceremony was such a gift.
A Ceremony in the Vines
Golden hour hit just as Maddie walked down the aisle, and the entire vineyard seemed to glow. They exchanged vows with the soft hum of nature around them, surrounded by people who have loved and supported them through every chapter.
It was equal parts peaceful and powerful—a reminder of why I adore destination weddings. Being in a new place makes everything feel more intentional, more immersive. And photographing that energy is what I live for.
A Napa Valley Celebration to Remember
The celebration that followed was full of charm and color—thanks to the floral artistry of @the.blonde.rose, live music by @luckydevilsband, and seamless planning by @lisamcadamsevents. Every detail, from the custom rentals by @encoreeventsrentals to the gorgeous cake by @flourandbloomcakes, brought their vision to life.
Zach Bryan played in the background, the wine flowed, and the dance floor was packed all night. It was the perfect mix of California elegance and southern warmth—just like Maddie & Kevin themselves.
