There aren’t many people who get to say they’ve known their person from childhood all the way into adulthood, and that’s part of what makes Katelynn and Van’s story so special to us.
Conner and I have had the privilege of growing up alongside both of them, which means we get to know the people we love not just for who they are now, but for so many versions of who they’ve been along the way. Watching their story come full circle, from childhood, to growing up, to finding their way back to each other, and now becoming husband and wife, is something we’ll never forget.
An Intimate Elopement at the Huntsville Botanical Garden
Katelynn and Van said “I do” beneath a white pergola at the Huntsville Botanical Garden, surrounded by just their closest people. Conner had the honor of officiating their ceremony while I had the honor of photographing it, and getting to be part of their day in both of those ways made it even more meaningful for us.

Their day was intimate, intentional, emotional, and completely them. Then came the kiss, the cheers, and the happiest walk back down the aisle.

Golden Hour Portraits in the Garden
After the ceremony, we wandered the garden for portraits as the sun went down. Katelynn twirled across the lawn, Van could not stop smiling at her, and the light did exactly what I hoped it would. WOW.

Katelynn and Van, we love you both so much. We’re so grateful to share this kind of lifelong friendship with you, and even more grateful that we got to stand beside you for such a special chapter. 🤍
