Sydney & Ryder: A Joyful Downtown Birmingham Engagement

Sydney and Ryder, y’all! These two brought ALL the fun to their downtown Birmingham engagement session: classic marble columns at the Robert S. Vance Federal Building, a few dramatic dips, and kisses under the iconic Alabama Theatre sign. Their laughter made every single minute feel easy, and I adored getting to know them better. Downtown is one of my favorite places for an engagement session because every block has its own personality, and these two soaked up every bit of it.

We started at the Vance Federal Building, and WOW, those white marble columns were made for Sydney’s dress. Ryder kept her smiling the whole time, and fear not, the twirling started early. Between the arched doorways and a quick dash across the street, this building gave us SO many gorgeous spots. The soft, even light bouncing off all that marble made everything glow, and these two never stopped laughing.

Grand Steps and Gold Railings

Next we found those grand marble steps with the gold railings, and these two snuggled right in. Sydney’s ring got its moment, too. Then we circled back to the colonnade for a couple of dips, and Ryder absolutely nailed them. Sydney’s dress swishing through the air in front of those columns? Chef’s kiss.

Under the Alabama Theatre Sign

No downtown Birmingham session is complete without the Alabama Theatre! That glowing marquee is pure magic, and Sydney and Ryder looked straight out of a movie strolling down the street beneath it. It’s such a classic Birmingham backdrop, and it fit their sweet, playful energy perfectly.

A Sweet Second Look

To wrap things up, Sydney changed into a romantic cream dress and Ryder went for a sleek black polo. We found a quiet set of marble steps for some cozy, up-close moments, and I am OBSESSED with how soft and sweet these turned out.
