What a love story that these two have! They met while in High School and dated each other for five years before they got engaged. They did not attend the same college so they took on the challenge of long distance and are still currently doing that! I lived with Maggie my freshman year of college and I remember her FaceTiming Jonathan every night, they made sure that they at least saw or talked to each other as much as they could. As me and Maggie grew closer I got to know Jonathan better and let me tell you, she picked an amazing guy. Once I started my photography business I slightly hinted (really obviously) that I would love to be there to take the photos for when he proposes! Once I received the text of all the information I was so thrilled out of my mind!
Now what happened at least from a photographers perspective! The plan was for Jonathan to get Maggie to go on a walk in Railroad Park in Birmingham. She lives walking distance and they do this all the time so it shouldn’t raise any red flags for her. Once they get to a spot that Jonathan picked out there will be a box, that I have hidden) sitting there. In the box is the ring and a song that Maggie sings to Jonathan all the time (Maggie is a wonderful singer). Well, what ended up happening was Me and another friend Susie ended up waiting in the park for 2 HOURS! Maggie did not want to go on this walk! With a little convincing Jonathan got her to not only go but change out of her sweatpants! Finally, we hear their voices from behind the bush and the rest is on camera! She was so thrilled and excited, literally running around in joy. After that Maggie was surprised by all her friends and family at her apartment for an engagement party!
It was such a joy to photograph and be there in the moment for these two dear friends of mine. Maggie and Jonathan deserve so much joy and happiness in their life and marriage.
